The most important pre-Hispanic city on the north coast of Veracruz was the ancient capital of the Totonac culture. Its most outstanding monument is the Pyramid of the Niches, decorated with 365 niches. It has the largest number of ball games: a total of 17. This place to visit houses a museum where you can admire carved objects of the Totonacs and know one of the most famous rituals of the place: the ball game. In March, the Tajín Summit takes place in the nearby Takilhsukut Park, so you will be aware of the activities and groups that will be presented and the exact date.
