It is located to the center of Hidalgo, includes the municipalities of Acatlán, Atotonilco el Grande, Eloxochitlán, Huasca de Ocampo, Metepec, Metztitlán, St. Augustine Metzquititlán and Zacualtipán of Angels; It is habitat for a set of fragile ecosystems in arid areas contain a rich flora and fauna.
