Every year, on the last Sunday of September, the 11 ethnographic regions of Puebla gather to commemorate pre-Hispanic rituals through music, dance, cuisine, and crafts. Among the most important activities of the celebration are the coronation of Xochicihuatl, "the flower woman," the procession of dancers to San Miguel Hill, and the Cuetzalan flyers.
Huey Atlixcáyotl is undoubtedly a celebration of identity where Puebla traditions are maintained and preserved.
