About El Cerrito Archaeological Site
The place was occupied by pre-Columbian civilizations for more than 1,500 years from Teotihuacan in a first stage, and then Toltecs, Chichimecs, Tarascan and Otomi. Their structures are truly monumental as it was an important religious and political center. There are several outstanding structures but the Great Pyramid, the Palace, the platform Foursquare, Square Dance and Sculpture Square.
