Whale Shark Sanctuary

The sanctuary where the highest concentration of whale sharks, is located on the northern shores of Isla Contoy National Park and north and northeast of the Area of ​​Protection of Flora and Fauna of Yum Balam, despite being the biggest fish in the world coming to measure between 15 and 18m, is docile and harmless to humans, making it extremely attractive for divers and snorkelers. It belongs to a migratory species often travel long distances in search of food annually, reaching Mexican seas from May to September.
