Pilgrimage to the Peña de Bernal

The Otomí-Chichimeca people, seated in the Tolimán region has preserved the traditions. Every year, come together to make a pilgrimage to the sacred elevations of the Peña de Bernal, ask for water, divine protection, venerate their ancestors Chichimecos and endorse their sense of identity and belonging. The observance takes place in private family chapels or manifest with elevated chimales, imposing structures built with reeds and covered with wild plants.
