This ritual is part of the cultural heritage of the Totonac people living in the state of Veracruz and Puebla, is one of the pre-Hispanic ceremonies has kept pace. The archaeological site of El Tajin, is where most popularized this ritual flying, associated with fertility running various ethnic groups in Mexico and Central America, but particularly for the Totonac of Veracruz. During the ceremony four people climb a long rope tied to a mast, and then begin to descend to the sound of the flute and the drum to the floor.
