Islands and Protected Areas of the Gulf of California

The site comprises 244 islands and islets and coastal areas extending from the north in the Colorado River Delta to 270 kilometers southeast of the tip of the Baja California Peninsula. View offers spectacular landscapes, in which the blinding light of the desert and the turquoise waters bring out the steep cliffs of the islands and sandy beaches. It also houses 695 plant species and 891 ichthyologic, of which 90 are endemic. It also houses the 39% and 33% of the world's marine mammal species and cetaceans, respectively.
