About Archaeological Zone Cuauhtinchan

Amid the mountain Texcaltepec, known as the Hill of the Idols, was a ceremonial site built by the Aztecs and discovered in 1933. One of the architectural features are monolithic structures, ie, carved from a single stone. It is also interesting that here were carried out initiation rites of the Eagle and ocelots warriors, considered the highest in the Aztec elite militia.
