About Colima Volcano
It is the only volcano still active and busiest in the country, also called "Volcano of Fire" with 3.960 meters. The best time to visit is November to March. In your area it is ideal for camping, hiking or rural light photography. To climb the volcano, the closest approach starts in the town of Atentique, and then to the place called El Playon. Routes to approach the volcano offer multiple options to spend a family day: roadside restaurants, rental cottages and shops selling handicrafts.
