About Archaeological Zone Balamku

Discovered in 1990, this small archaeological zone consists of three architectural groups, the outstanding piece being a large polychrome stucco frieze. Its dimensions are spectacular, as it measures 16.8m long and has a height of 1.75m. It is because of this monument that it receives its name that in Mayan means Jaguar Temple. Located among the thick jungle vegetation of the area, getting there is also part of the adventure.
