About El Viejo (La Mesa) Archaeological Site

Also known as the Old Tehuacan, the highlight of this place is the temple where skulls set with stucco on the side walls were found. It seems that is dedicated to the god of the underworld, or Mictlantecuhtli, and is also known as the Temple of Skulls.
It is the only one who has found dedicated to the deity of death, but also has other buildings that are a sample of the popolaca culture.
