Yuriria Lagoon

One of the oldest hydraulic constructions in colonial Mexico, dates from 1584 and is part of a basin of volcanic origin. Apparently, every time there is a tremor or eruption of a volcano, its waters turn red because, according to a fisherman's testimony, he "gets sick." Rest area for migratory birds of the country, is recognized as Area of Importance for the Conservation of Birds.
